JOE FINGERLIN MEMORIAL

 NFTA FIELD TRIAL DOG OF THE YEAR

 

PURPOSE: To promote the sport of field trialing on the Branched Oak Field Trial Ground as well as enhance sportsmanship and comradeship within the field trial community.

 

AWARD: This award will be presented at the summer meeting at the cabin on the Branched Oak Field Trial Grounds. At that time the selected dog will have its name and the owner’s name added to the trophy that will be permanently displayed at the Field Trial Club House. A picture of the winning dog will also be placed on display at the club house. Following the award ceremony a luncheon will be held to celebrate the winner.

 

GUIDELINES:

1)      Dogs eligible for this award will be based solely on their performance at the Branched Oak Field Trial Grounds.

2)      Points for the award will be given only for Open and Open Limited broke dog stakes that are open to all AKC and American Field Registered Breeds. No points will be awarded for one breed closed stakes.

3)      Points will be acquired within twelve months.  Starting July 1st - June 30th.

4)      Selection of the Dog of the Year will be based on the aggregate points awarded during the course of twelve months.  Starting July 1st - June 30th. Points will be award using the following formula:

a.       Points will be based on the placement of a dog in a given broke dog stake, 4 points for 1st , 3 points for  2nd , 2 points for 3rd , and 1 point for 4th multiplied by the number of dogs that were run in that given stake.

b.      An additional multiplier will be added for National, Regional, or Classic Stakes.

                                  i.      National Stakes would have a additional multiplier of 2.0
